A tribute to a player with a heart of a lion...and a head of a granite counter.

St. Louis Park, MN- While watching a Packer game in the late 80s and early 90s there are two things you didn't miss. Lindy Infante's shitty play calling (that would have worked great in a flag football game)and the bone crushing hits administered by the king of sting, Packer Safety Chuck Cecil.

Cecil's storied NFL career started for the Green Bay Packers where he was selected in the 4th round out of the University of Arizona. During his 5 years with the Packer's Cecil captured the hearts and minds of all who filled Lambeau with his style of reckless abandonment and often time bloodied face. Among Cecil's accolades include a 1991 All Madden Selection, a 1992 Pro-Bowl Selection as well as multiple college awards and honors.

Not to anyone's surprise Cecil had to retire from football in 1995. Today he is the defensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans. He is also an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife Cari and daughter Charli. Said a seemingly satisfied Cecil in a May 2009 interview...."Paul, my playing career was tough....but I have no regrets"

  1. Sounds like the the lyrics from a Jimmy Buffett Song: "Paul some of its magic, some of its tragic but I had a good career all the way!"

  2. Where do you think the bears finish this season? Over/Under 16 on the number of games Brett Favre starts this season. A season marked by his first serious injury? Or a season that continues into the new year?
