Rouse's Exit

When the Packers drafted Aaron Rouse out of Virginia Tech in the 3rd Round of the 2007 NFL Draft the thing that immediatly popped into our head was Sean Taylor (RIP).
The guy looked the part and we fully anticipated aggression and hard hits for years to come. One scout tempered out excitement when he said "This guy looks like Tarzan but hits like Jane".

As time has progressed this scout proved to be correct. Rouse never measured up (that's what she said) but his release in light of the injury to Rasta Ninja has fans scratching their heads.

This is what we think. New Safety Coach Darren Perry is a hard ass and wants his safety to play the game the right way.

"If he can just make the tackle you'll have a pretty good run defense," Perry said. "Some teams will try to crack (back) on him (with wide receivers) and make the corners tackle. You can't have a strong safety that doesn't understand how to fit those kinds of crack blocks. If he starts popping and getting outside, now you've created a seam instead of making it go east and west."

Rouse did whatever he damn well pleased on defense which expediated him getting his ass kicked out of town. By about 3:00 pm tomorrow we'll know if former Raven Derrick Martin will be able to get the job done.
